Being an independent inventor has been quite a challenge, in todays system things are stacked against you. Companies would rather steal the ideas, or think that they can hire some academics to reproduce a similar invention. But this seldom works.
I don't invent little gadgets, but more technical things, such as high performance servers, video compression systems, tranmission protocols, AI, and other things of this sort.
